Our range of courses is extensive.  With the introduction of the requirement for the public sector to promote disability equality, we are offering a unique opportunity for those working in the sector to develop their knowledge and expertise in this area.

DEBuzz^© Sessions

Disability Equality Buzz Sessions bring together people working in related areas to explore ways in which disability equality can be forwarded through their work.  They are particularly useful for those within the public sector currently preparing their Disability Equality Schemes.

A DEBuzz Session provides:

• An opportunity to meet with others working on similar issues
• The ability to bring specific examples of real issues to work on
• The benefit of informed facilitation and a level of consultancy input
• A broad focus on all the disability issues that could affect your work
• The availability of a high level of consultant support in a small group
• A safe environment to explore practical problems faced
• Time away from the immediate demands of the work environment
• Relaxed and pleasant surrounding with good food

Sessions are available or being arranged in a number of areas.  These include:

• lead officers
• education
• legal practice
• procurement
• the NHS

The cost of the session is £295 + vat but delegates are encouraged to bring a second colleague along with them for free

A three day workshop designed for those with specific responsibility for the interests of disabled employees or customers.  Tailored to delegates’ interests this event offers a safe, well-informed environment to update thinking and explore new issues.

Disability Equality in Procurement

A one day opportunity for those involved in procurement, from purchasing decision through contracting to monitoring, to explore potential barriers to disability equality in the process

Gathering Information and Analysing Evidence for Disability Equality Schemes

A full day course exploring what information is needed and how it might be gathered and analysed using an equality approach

Involving Disabled People

A one day course exploring involvement and the extent needed in developing Disability Equality Schemes

Briefing on the Duty to Promote Disability Equality

A two hour event providing information and facilitated discussion of issues for the delegates

Beyond Awareness: The Disability Equality Duty in the Public Sector

This full day course provides for more in depth exploring of obligations to promote disability equality.  It will provide both an understanding of the legislation and disabled people's expectations, as well as plans for strategic implementation. 

Facilitating Disability Access: Property Professionals and the Disability Discrimation Act

Provides essential understanding of access issues for disabled people and promotes an understanding of reasonableness. Delegates will cover key legal requirements and enable strategies to remove and not create barriers to disabled people.  Suitable for those involved in buildings from design through to property management.

Disability : Essential Issues for Lawyers Working With Disabled Clients (6 hours CPD)

Specifically for those where disability is a key issue working within Employment Law, Disability Discrimination Act and Personal Injury Legislation. 

Calling Time on Change

Disability Equality Training for the licencing trade and private clubs. Landlord and Tenant responsibilities and inclusive customer service.

Assessing Access

A 2 day course to enable participants to undertake detailed audits within their own organisations by giving them the knowledge and understanding of different people's access needs and what  the DDA requires.
